DFI’s Business Development Manager, Robert Mitchell, surveyed 40 random businesses across several industries in the Central Business District to investigate how the City’s adjusted operating hours impacted local business revenues.  

Specifically, did the shifting City Hall hours affect patronage levels by City workers at downtown businesses?
Kelsi Gunarathne assumed the role as the DFI Cultural Projects Manager in January. 

Kelsi graduates this May from Framingham State University with a B.A. in economics with a minor in business.

Meet the Spring Interns
Philip Emeka, center, will earn his Associate Degree in Engineering Design with a CAD Certificate from MassBay Community College this December.
Philip works with DFI and the DPW to review sidewalk features in support of a sidewalk usage ordinance for cafe tables and displays.

Quinton Lang joins DFI as the Spring Public Health Intern.

Quinton will earn his B.A. in criminology and psychology this May from Framingham State University.

In his first 6 days, he collected the necessary data to support a 37-page grant proposal!
Gabe Trevor joins DFI in a joint internship with Sudbury Valley Trustees.
As the Spring Community Outreach Intern, Gabe will assess public green spaces and develop use and access recommendations. Gabe earns his Master of Community Development and Planning from Clark University this May.
Ivini Barbosa and Camila Espinosa Coronel join Gabe as green space interns this Spring (more photos to come)!

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council will host a "Community Listening Session: MetroCommon 2050 Open House Expo" on Thursday, February 28 from 3 PM – 8 PM in Nevins Hall of the Memorial Building (150 Concord St).
MAPA Translations and Language Solutions will host an International Women's Day Celebration on Friday, March 8 from 11:45 AM – 2:15 PM at Exhibit 'A' Brewing Co (81 Morton Street).
