The Pratt Street Community Garden
48 Pratt Street, Framingham
The Pratt Street Community Garden has 65 plots for families or groups to reserve to use for their own fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers. The property where the garden is located is owned by Framingham Parks and Rec. but it is managed and maintained by Framingham resident Maria Martinez.
DFI and employees from Bose setup the plots this year during Bose's annual day of service. The team measured, raked, and staked the plots to ensure the gardens were equal and accessible for the families that will be utilizing them.
This summer, DFI will be collaborating with Sarah Cavicchi from Bridges Together and Tempe Staples from Sudbury Valley Trustees on #Plot48.
#Plot48 will provide gardening opportunities that encourage inter-generational collaboration.
DFI and Bridges Together are seeking volunteers aged 55 and over to help plant and maintain #Plot48. Raised beds will be installed on #Plot48 for those with restricted mobility. Volunteers will also be able to paint or decorate the raised beds.
